Meet AURA, the most efficient and flexible technology in the market for monitoring biosignals.
“Since the company’s foundation, we have identified that new findings in neuroscience are constantly yielding emerging technologies and techniques that have the potential to impact industries such as the educational sector, neuromarketing, entertainment, and rehabilitation, among other technologies.”
– Dr. Christian Penaloza
With a PhD in Applied Cognitive Neuroscience in Robotics, and a lot of experience interacting with EEG (electroencephalographic) technologies, our Co-founder, Dr. Christian Penaloza identified a fantastic opportunity to contribute to these areas. He observed that almost all professional EEG devices were highly expensive (costing around 15 or 16 thousand US dollars). From this, in 2018 along with a group of experts he launched the first version of Aura 00, a biosensing system consisting of a software, a biosensing board and an EEG cap, all designed and produced by themselves. One of the biggest achievements was the price reduction from 16,000 US dollars to 3,500 US dollars. As a result, this product was the creation of a bridge which began to connect researchers, scientists, and creative partners with accessible emerging technologies
With the intention of giving the EEG cap a more formal design, in 2019 we collaborated with the Mexican creative agency delaO design studio, making the version Aura 01. This version was characterized by the design of the EEG cap patterns and the improvement of its electrodes produced in 3D printing.
Understanding the uninterrupted evolution of technology and the upcoming needs of our customers, we are constantly improving both our products and services. As a result, we are very happy to share the new version Aura 02, proudly developed by one of our former EMFUTECH students Gerardo Soler and the Mexican Industrial Design Studio Soon Studio.
Our newest biosensing system consists of a biosensing board and an EEG cap, both developed through the same design direction. Aura 02 provides the user with a better experience through screen printing on the cap, indicating the position of each electrode and a resistant and thinner biosensing case 3D printed in SLS (selective laser sintering).
Eight channels allow the acquisition of biosignals such as:
Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals (brain), Electromyogram (EMG) signals (muscle), Electroculogram (EOG) signals (eye), Electrocardiogram (ECG) (heart).
Store raw data in a simple file format such as CSV.
Transmit wirelessly to your computer for visualization and recording
Analyze biosignal data having the option of using your software packages of choice, including: AURA visualization – MATLAB and EEGLAB – open source EEG toolkit for MATLAB PYTHON SCRIPTS.
