INVESTIGACIÓN

Durante nuestro proceso de investigación identificamos que nos interesaban 3 partes principales del cerebro para monitorear, siendo el lóbulo frontal, el occipital y el temporal, debido a que en ellos se puede medir la atención cognitiva, visual y auditiva respectivamente. 

De acuerdo al análisis de mercado, nos dimos cuenta que no existía un producto el cual combinara un casco EEG con un visor inalámbrico VR. Por lo cual, para establecer nuestros parámetros de forma y funcionalidad, combinamos diferentes cascos EEG del mercado con el visor GEAR VR. Esto nos permitió identificar las posibles problemáticas al utilizarlos simultáneamente. Nos dimos cuenta de diversos problemas como su dificultad de adaptar al mismo tiempo, que no contaban con los electrodos necesarios o que era muy incómodos de utilizar juntos.

Terminando nuestro proceso de investigación, definimos los siguientes parámetros para la realización del proyecto:

  • Diseñar un casco el cual combine realidad virtual + EEG, siendo capaz de monitorear la atención del estudiante durante una clase virtual.
  • Debe de ser cómodo y fácil de utilizar.
  • Debe de contar con un espacio para adaptar la tarjeta de bioseñales Aura.

Teniendo estos parámetros, se pasó a la etapa de ideación, modelado 3d y producción. Las siguientes imágenes muestran un resumen de todo el proceso.

One of the standout applications for elderly cognitive training, Mirai Neuro-training is an augmented reality (AR) app designed to exercise memory, attention, and focus. This application offers immersive AR tasks that adapt to users’ cognitive abilities over time.

MIRAI Neuro-training

Example AR task:

A virtual vending machine appears in front of the user, and they are tasked with memorizing three beverages of different brands in a specific order. After the request disappears, the user is given a limited amount of time to find the correct beverages in the machine among more than 30 brands, select the correct one, pay using a virtual card, retrieve the beverage, and place it into a container next to the vending machine.

Personalized training:

Based on analysis of the user’s cognitive load and performance, the app adjusts the difficulty level—increasing the number of beverages or decreasing task time—to provide personalized cognitive training. This adaptability ensures that each user receives the right challenge at the right time, promoting memory retention, attention, and overall cognitive health.

Target use:

Designed for use in elderly care facilities, where users can be assisted in wearing the WAVEX headset and engage in a weekly training routine for cognitive enhancement.

Brain-Wave  Sensing VR Relaxation

The Brain-Wave Sensing VR Relaxation application is designed for the wellness industry, particularly to help employees manage stress and improve mental relaxation in the workplace. This application immerses the user in a series of 360-degree VR videos designed to promote relaxation and reduce work-related stress.

How it works:

After donning the Wavex headset, the user is immersed in a 30-second calming landscape (e.g., beach, forest, temple). During this time, Wavex continuously measures the user’s brain activity to determine their level of mental relaxation. Next, the user experiences a sequence of five stunning 360-degree environments, including:
• Majestic beach views
• Lush forests
• Serene Japanese temples
• Underwater scenes
• Outer space vistas
After viewing all five videos, Wavex analyzes the mental relaxation levels induced by each video. It then selects the most effective video for the user’s relaxation and plays it for a longer session.

End result:

By the end of the session, users feel refreshed, relaxed, and ready to return to their work with renewed energy. This application is perfect for corporate lounges or wellness areas where employees can take short, rejuvenating breaks.
